This January I’m playing along in Tara Leaver’s #21DaysInMyArtWorld challenge over on Instagram.  And just for fun I’m posting my photos and musings here on the blog as well. Today’s prompt is: Favorite Tool.

Today’s #21DaysInMyArtWorld prompt is: Favorite Tool.

Ask any of my students and I’m sure they’ll tell you that my answer would be: my beloved Robert Simmons Titanium brushes.

I’m always preaching about the benefits & blessings a good brush bestows. You can own all of the best paint in the world, but if you use a crappy brush, your experience of painting will never be at its juiciest.

Just the same — you can have the cheapest paints possible, but if you whip out a good brush, you’re brushstrokes will move like pure heaven and you’ll feel like a rockstar!

Personally, I’ve been a loyal fan of Robert Simmons Titanium brushes for almost 10 years now! They come with a lifetime guarantee, but even when these sweeties get old & tired I don’t exchange them. I simply welcome new ones into the family and pick up the elders when I need a special brushstroke or effect.

Most of all, I love the way these brushes feel in my hand, how the bristles have an elasticity to them and these mamas can hold lots & lots of paint.

Yep. No doubt about it. These love bugs are my favorite tool.
