#21DaysInMyArtWorld :: Latest WIP

This January I’m playing along in Tara Leaver’s #21DaysInMyArtWorld challenge over on Instagram.  And just for fun I’m posting my photos and musings here on the blog as well. Today’s prompt is: Latest WIP.

I got to say that I am ridiculously excited about my own latest WIP (work in process) — I even shared a more intimate peek at this new sketchbook in my most recent Facebook Live (check out the video down below!).

Inspired by the woodblock prints of Oaxaca, Mexico, I plan to fill my newest sketchbook up with B&W intuitive sketches that I’m going to then transform into much larger linoleum prints!

Way back in art school I did a very large series of detailed linoleum prints that took me over a year to complete. I haven’t done anything like it since and when I left Mexico this past November I had an aching in my heart to play with printmaking again! All the artistic political posters plastered on the walls there will do that to you!

Can’t wait to finally start carving up a storm — but until then, I’m having fun making these sketches.

Pssst….You can watch my latest Facebook Live in the video below — enjoy!
