Paint FEARLESS Mexico Final Show!!!!

Hello Sweet Friends!!

After spending three beautiful weeks in Oaxaca, Mexico hosting two sold out Paint FEARLESS Mexico retreats at my dear friend Lisa Sonora’s Art House Oaxaca, I must say that I’m experiencing a little resistance to easing back into my daily life here in the desert.

I miss the color, the textures, the sounds, and the people. I miss crawling out of bed, strapping on my sweater, and heading straight for the outside studio — where I was always met by fellow FEARLESS Painters greeting their day with paint as well.

So to help ease my transition, I want to honor each of my FEARLESS Painters that joined the adventure by sharing photos from their final shows.

What is a final show?

Well, one of the main intentions driving this retreat was for each FEARLESS Painter to create a body of art work that fully expressed, explored, and honored each artist’s unique experience there in Oaxaca.

What makes me the happiest about these final shows is how very different each artist’s body of work is! As I told them the very first day together — we don’t need any more Connie Solera’s in the world. As a teacher, my mission is to meet each of my students exactly where they are in their artist journey and then support, guide, and poke them a bit to fully embody their creative process and be the artist they are called here to be!

So on our last full day together we close our retreat with each artist having a final show of their own. This is their time to not only share about their process and shine their work — but they get to receive appreciation, understanding, and celebration from their peers — as well as me!

It’s super fun and the furthest thing from those soul squashing art school critiques!
